Autumn Blessings

About this time every year I am amazed at how quickly summer goes by. The change of seasons from summer to autumn always brings mixed emotions for me. That's because summer is my favorite time of the year. Not that autumn doesn't have its own set of wonderful things to enjoy, but I guess it's just a reminder to me that winter will soon follow, as our autumn season is usually very short-lived here in Indiana.
But, it does look like summer is officially on it's way out, as autumn winds blow, the leaves are turning, and pumpkins are popping up everywhere. I decided, instead of mulling (just like cider) over the thought that summer is gone, I'm gonna try to think about all of the blessings of autumn. As I was reading different posts and pictures on my Facebook wall, I noticed some pretty awesome photos. They reminded me of all the true blessings we do receive this time year. So, I'm sharing some of my favorite pics from friends and family.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

  1. I love Fall - my favorite - maybe bec Im a redhead and can identify w/ pumpkins in color and shape?? I'm sorry we don't have rain here on the central coast of CA - it's 80 today and we need God to drench us. sigh. My sister is outside Chicago and i'm going for a long weekend next week to get a taste of the Midwest and true fall. Feel free to link on tuesdays - blessings on you and yours! 1. LOL! The red hair may have something to do with it. It may also explain why I, as a blonde, love summer so very much! I had heard through other bloggers, that it has been quite dry out west. Praying you get some rain real soon. Enjoy your trip to Chicago! I hear that we may be getting quite a bit of rain over the next several days! :)

  2. Photos are gorgeous, as usual. I'm a photo addict, so read words and Words, but also look at photos and see if I can truly "see" and meet the sharer. This was a real treat and made me smile, even though it ain't early now. Pushing bedtime. But, as I've indicated, this was a treat!

  5. You may remember that fall is my favorite season! I love the crisp mornings and the changing colors in the hills. Now that we live back in Santa Rosa, I am also enjoying the vineyards which have just begun to change colors. They always make a stunning display! We bought a little chiminea for on our patio so we can enjoy the evenings a bit longer while sitting outside. So fun! Oh, and let's not forget Pumpkin Spice Lattes! :) I don't eat sugar anymore, however, I make my own lattes and use real pumpkin, spices and maple syrup for the sweetener! Oh yum...better than Starbucks!

Thanks for sharing your sunset photos - just stunning!

    Blessings, Joan
