Spring Fever
For over a week, we have had the most beautiful weather imaginable, here in northern Indiana!! As my husband says, "It's like summer, without all the humidity and flying insects!" The hubs and I have been taking long walks almost every day, enjoying the sweet moments together and taking in God's beauty! It's almost too good to be true! (In a side note: the hubs also wonders whether all this summer-like weather will cause any weird weather in the near future - more tornadoes, heat wave, etc,) I don't like to think about that right now, though. I'm enjoying today SO much!!
It's been especially difficult for me to not run outside and dig in the dirt!! It's pretty early to be planting anything here in the Midwest. Usually they say it's not "safe" from frost until the first of May. On top of that, we may be moving to a new house soon and I'm thinking it would be wiser to wait and plant new flowers on the new property, rather than waste my time on planting anything more on our current land. This is very torturous, though. And anyone who is an avid Gardner, would agree, that it's like putting candy in front of a child and saying he can't have any right now!
So, today, I'm doing what I can and sharing some bought flowers(a rare thing for me to do) with some of my spring catalogs (which I sit and drool over). I also added to my little vignette an heirloom lamp, which belonged to my grandmother and my sweet little birds, that I recently purchased. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
I recently bought this "journal" for it's beautiful cover!!
I'm not sure if I will use it to keep my daily journals in or use as a "garden journal."
I've never had one, but I have often thought about making one.
Isn't the intricate detail just amazing!?!
I just love all of the color and beauty of a flower!
I've owned this dry-sink for several years. It's not an antique, but I love the old-fashioned look.
And may you have a lovely First Day of Spring!!
"Life is Good!" with a view of God's nature and some tea!!! Me in my favorite "T(ea)-shirt" below.
Linking up over at these sweet blog hops:
Hello Ann,
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are so pretty! Cute t-shirt too and the birdies; adorable! Your dry sink is very much like my stereo stand which I sanded down and then painted white, after which I distressed. It was pretty beat up when I got it and my intention was to paint it and make it look antique. Thanks for joining me for tea today. Happy Spring!
Blessings,
Sandi
Thanks, Sandi! I thought you might like the pink tulips. I really love wearing my tea-shirt. The material is very soft and comfortable. I would love to see your re-painted stereo stand! It sounds really cool!!
DeleteAh yes! The weather is so nice it makes one want to plant! But it is too soon : (
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are so cheery, and the "tea" shirt so sweet!
I enjoyed your lovely post!
Hugs,
Terri
Thanks, Terri! I am enjoying this weather, in spite of having to wait to get into my garden! I have been doing a lot of weeding, plus I have enjoyed some tulips and hyacinths coming up.
DeleteHello! The beautiful flowers. Fresh, spring, live.
ReplyDeleteAnd my flowers are sewn from fabric, but it is very similar to yours.

Thank you. I'm glad you have enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteHi Ann,
ReplyDeleteYour tulips are delightful! I too am anxious to play in the dirt, but really can't plant any annuals until May 15th just to be safe. I've been enjoying watching the perennials come up as well as my bulbs. Blessings to you.
Me too, Donna! looking forward to planting season!!!
