Mother/Child Tea Party

Image
Hello, all my tea-lovin' friends out there! Hope you've been enjoying your week! Mine has been quite busy. I haven't had much time to stop for a teatime break. So, thank goodness, last week I did a double up and had photographed two different tea-settings for Mother's Day. I know the holiday has come and gone, but thought it would still be nice to share this mother/child tea time with you. My step-daughter, who is 36, married and has her own family, is NOT at all a tea person. So, I like to dream of what it would be like to have teatime as mother and daughter(or son). These are my favorite Chintz tea sets.  I have 2 sets; one large and one small. Perfect for a mother and  young child . Snickerdoodles are the sweet snack for this tea party. Simply cinnamon-y delicious!  Even though my son isn't into tea, either, I have some adorable mother/son figurines. This reminds me of when I got him ready for his first day of school, many ye...

God's Timing and Sense of Humor

Mother Teresa said to her students, 'If you want to make God laugh, tell Him of your plans.' God's timing is perfect. My timing is always off...or at least a good part of the time, it is. I suppose having a lack of patience is the reason. I work hard at trying to be patient. In the past 2 years, we have had our house on the market, on and off, for 9 months and have had it pending a sale for the past 10 months.  We had looked at several houses to buy and felt drawn to make offers on 3 different houses, before finally finding the house of our dreams. Many times I've had my doubts that we would even move and honestly, until all the papers are signed, I still wonder if it's going to happen.  About a month ago, though, I sure was feeling confident about things. Maybe I just wanted it so bad that I thoug...

For All Who Take Refuge in God

Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. — Psalm 5:11              Our hope is in the LORD! He is the basis of our security and the reason for our joyful songs! He is our protection and hope! He is the reason we rejoice!  Praying you are blessed, as you take refuge in your Lord and Savior, and may you rejoice in Him today!!!    Linking over at these blog hops today: Word Filled Wednesday ...

She came into our family at Christmas of 2010. She weighs a woppin' 3 lbs. I love this picture of my son and Sophie when she was a puppy. She loved sitting on his shoulder. She still trys doing it, but only if we are leaning back on the couch. Jet and Sophie, sitting out on our front porch chair. Even though they're not related, they act like brother and sister....play, fight over bones and toys, and Jet even lets me k...
